This year alongside the fantastic beer and food we had great music, face painting and games for the family like hula heifer and name the heifer alongside the all-important steam engines! The beer line-up was a treat for any beer-lover with the full Badger range of ales together with brews from fellow Dorset brewers; Piddle, Palmers, Sixpenny Handley, Otter Brewery, Dorset Brewing Co and Hop Back Brewery to name but a few. If that wasn’t enough, we also made sure rugby fans were happy, by showing the big England vs. Wales match on a big screen, just steps from the bar!
The beer festival is a once a year opportunity to sample all your favourite Badger beers on cask (some for the first time!) alongside a few special editions from our pilot brewery. New brews this year included British-hopped ‘Pound and a Penny’, brewed 100% with hops from our fair isle; Endeavour, Jester, Flyer and Olicana hops, and its cousin from across the pond, ‘Dollars and Dimes’ brewed with American Chinook, Amarillo, Simcoe and Mosaic hops. With so many beers to choose from it was near impossible to find a favourite, but many people tried!
We’d like to say a big thank you to all our sponsors, volunteers and suppliers who supported the event and made it such a success! Our team at the brewery are still busy counting the money coming in, but to keep up to date with all the latest news and to find out how much we raised for charity by following us on Facebook or Twitter.
If you missed out this year, don’t worry, the H&W beer festival will be back in 2016. We hope to see you next year!”
