As some of you might remember from a blog the Badger posted back in February (ahem), June 21 and 22 is the weekend of that much-loved sporting fixture and highlight of the city of Bath’s calendar, Bath Boules.

Held in Queen Square and surely the best clean French fun to be had this side of the Channel, this annual charity competition sees hundreds of local business people coming together in a weekend of good-humoured rivalry, pitting their Gallic skills against one another in the sunshine, the sound of he-hawwing and metal gently thudding on gravel and more than the occasional comedy moustache and string of onions for that authentic French feel.

This year, just to make sure it all gets off to a flying start, Badger will be holding a beer and cheese tasting on the Friday night, as well as sampling throughout the weekend. And because we would hate for anyone to miss out on that all that fun (did we mention that places sell out immediately? They are hotter than the proverbial hot cakes) we are running a competition so that you and your friends can win a team place in Bath Boules.

All will be revealed in our April newsletter, so if you’re not already a member of the Badger Sett you might like to sign up today to receive details. You never know, come June you could be walking off with the boules crown.
