Oooh la, la – it’s competitive boules

We’re partial to a bit of sport here at Badger – cricket, rugby, football, Dorset Knob throwing, we’re not fussy – as long as it’s out in the fresh air, we’re glad to do our bit for this great sporting nation of ours. In fact, we’re even up for a spot of that quintessentially French game of boules, especially when it’s for a good cause, so on June 21 and 22 we will be getting a Hall & Woodhouse team together for that much-loved local charity institution Bath Boules.

The event is held in the Bath’s Queen’s Square, a mere hop, skip and a boule roll away from Hall & Woodhouse Bath, and sprawls out over the whole weekend, and just to make sure it gets off to a flying start we will be holding a beer and cheesing tasting on the Friday night, as well as sampling throughout the weekend. If last year is anything to go by it will be a lot of fun, with team members sporting Breton stripes, strings of onions and little French moustaches (not that there’s any national stereotyping going on, you understand) and we think the beer is just what our competitive boule champions need to wet their whistles and put a spring in their step. It’s going to be… how-you-say… a blast!
