To start, smoked salmon and Golden Champion. With its subtle elderflower aromas, this light golden ale works to complement the smoky flavour of the fish, without the risk of either overpowering the other.
For main, turkey and all the trimmings, with a glass of Tanglefoot. This easy going golden ale, with hints of melon and pear, works well across all of the masses of flavour you will have piled on your plate!
For dessert, Poacher’s Choice and Chocolate yule log. A gutsy ruby ale, with dark liquorice notes and a fruity damson aroma, Poacher’s Choice stands up to the strong flavours of the chocolate and as an alternative, also works very well with a traditional Christmas pudding.
Finally, if you make it as far as the cheese course, Blandford Flyer and a good, full flavoured Christmas cheese. A Blue Vinny or a Stilton are perfect. With its warm ginger and sweet spicy character, this beer cuts nicely through the salty, punchy flavours of the cheese, rounding off a fantastic beer and food festive journey!
