Saturday 8th November saw the 52nd Badger Chase Day at Wincanton Racecourse. The Dorset based family brewer Hall & Woodhouse sponsor the event each year and invite their Business Partnerships (tenanted) estate and their guests to join the racing fun. This year, nine Business Partners attended bringing with them 267 guests to enjoy the day.
The day was a huge success, despite the rain which came and went. There were 7 races in total, the last of which was awarded the famous Badger Ale Cup. A delicious three course meal was served and the bars poured award winning Badger cask ales. In addition, a covers rock band played into the night and guests were invited to stay on after the races to continue the fun.
Each year Hall & Woodhouse Business Partnerships compete to bring the most guests to the races and this year, huge congratulations go to Melanie Westwood, of The Black Bear, Wool for bringing the most guests (for the third year in a row!).
This year she attended with an impressive 68 guests and won herself a reserved private box for 12 guests on another race day. This special package includes Premier Enclosure Badges, a two course meal, a private account or cash bar, afternoon tea, personal waitress service and a case of Badger Ale to enjoy in the box.
Hall and Woodhouse would like to thank everyone who helped organise the event. It is a fantastic chance to get together and socialise and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
