Director Matt Kearsey began the evening with a few words to thank all Business Partners for the exceptional work undertaken and Commercial Manager, Chris Chapman, followed by outlining some of the key commercial highlights of 2015/16. Notably, Business Partners were delighted to understand that we, Hall and Woodhouse, have held our prices on our own brewed cask for seven years out of the last eight, which means we provide our Business Partners with our core product at a substantially more competitive rate than Sheapard Neame, Wadworth and Fuller’s (to name a few) provide their core range to their own tenants.
The evening continued with a three course meal accompanied by Alice in Wonderland themed entertainment in the form of a murder mystery. The announcement of the Gala Award winners soon followed, with seven awards in total. The Halfway Inn stole the show picking up Public House of the Year; judges noted that their all-round excellence exceeded expectations and that they were a worthy winner. All seven winning houses were presented with a certificate, a unique hand painted trophy, a cheque for £250 each (£1,000 for Public House of the Year) as well as two tickets to join the award winner’s trip in Edinburgh later this year. Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners!
We hope all Business Partners had as much fun at the event as we had creating it. A huge thank you goes to everyone who was involved, including our suppliers Badger, Heineken, Coca-Cola, Boutinot, Diageo, Westons, Britvic, FMV Wines, Franchhoek Cellar, Brakes, and Joseph Perrier.
