Business Partners Join the Wimborne Folk Festival 2016

Over the weekend of the 10th -12th June, visitors and locals of Wimborne in Dorset joined together in celebration at the Wimborne Folk Festival 2016.

Business Partners Gary and Jan from the Rising Sun and Marie-Claire from the Oddfellows Arms, both located in Wimborne, opened their doors with special events and promotions to accompany an array of Morris dancing groups, workshops and food stalls that adorned the streets.

The Rising Sun hosted local bands in the pub garden and entertained guests into the evening with a disco. The couple also hosted a pop-up stall by Hello Sweet Pea (a vintage caravan cocktail bar) which allowed their guests to sample a variety of cider and cocktails in addition to their existing menu.

The Oddfellows Arms hosted live music from local artists Men in Black and The Polly Morris Band. Marie-Claire and her team created a ‘4 for £10’ offer on beer to appeal to groups of guests as well served a bespoke festival food menu. The team continued the celebrations with an extra session of their music open mic night throughout the evening.

Taking part in community festivals is a great way to engage with local people as well as encourage new guests from further afield. Well done to both houses for their excellent events!
