The Drax Arms, Bere Regis has reopened its doors after being closed for three weeks for a fantastic refurbishment.
Sam Percival (landlord) who took over the pub in May 2013 has managed to turn what was previously a “local village boozer”, into a well-established pub restaurant with a reputation for delicious home cooked food. As the new side of the business took off, it was apparent that the pub needed to accommodate its surge of dining trade, while still accommodating the local drinkers.
The pub now has two separate areas which join seamlessly, one a cosy bar area with original wooden floorboards and the other a lovely restaurant with a roaring fire. Although the Drax has received a fresh, new look, the pub hasn’t lost any of its character and all the original features still remain. Receiving rave reviews from visitors and locals alike the newly refurbished Drax has perfected the balance of old and new.
