Local Pub Serves Up Community Spirit

Sam Percival landlord of the Drax Arms has taken it upon himself to make his pub an asset to its local community.

Hall & Woodhouse’s tenanted pub Drax Arms is quickly becoming a hub for Bere Regis’s local community; over the past year the newly appointed landlord Sam Percival has worked hard to turn this pub into a real community focal point. Locals use the pub for eclectic activities such as ukulele club, guitar club, quiz nights and live music and now the busy pub has started hosting regular charity evenings too.

The Drax Arms charity nights involve Sam handing over his pub for the evening to the charity to host an event as they please. Previous events have seen quizzes and raffles of which all funds go directly to the charity. As well as a free venue Sam provides a delicious 3 course meal at the price of £15.95 per person £2 of this goes straight to the chosen charity. This inspired idea takes all of the effort and risk out of fundraising and provides a unique venue to enjoy a fantastic evening of delicious food and entertainment while raising money for a great cause.

On Saturday 14th June the Drax Arms will be hosting a charity dinner in aid of Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance. If you are interested in attending the event find out more including the menu on www.draxarms.co.uk or book through the pub on 01929 471386.
