The Mayor of Poole, Councilor Philip Eades helped celebrate the opening of the newly refurbished Sloop in Poole last Thursday, 4th July. Along with other invited guests, the Mayor enjoyed the new look Sloop and made the most of the stunning new outdoor area as the sun shone, showcasing the newly landscaped garden in all its glory. The Mayor even popped behind the bar to pull a few pints!
Paul Lavery, our Business Partner at the Sloop said: “The official opening was a great success and we were delighted that the Mayor was able to join us in the celebrations – it was fantastic to meet and chat with so many people from the local community. Feedback on the tapas-style dishes we offered was really positive, as was the new food menu that we’ve introduced as part of the changes at the Sloop. We couldn’t have asked for better weather and our guests were amazed at the transformation. Hopefully, with our new look, we’ll encourage even more people who haven’t visited the pub in while, to see how the pub has changed both in terms of its look and great new food offer.”
One guest attending the event clearly had lady luck on her side when her name was drawn in a competition that was held on the evening, winning a brewery tour for two with an accompanying Ploughman’s lunch.
We would like to wish Paul the best of luck with his venture in the new look Sloop, and would like to thank all members of the property team involved with the development and refurbishment of the Sloop. I am sure you will join me in saying that the Sloop is looking fantastic!
