Last month The Six Bells, Billinghurst held its annual charity fun day. The Six Bells is part of the Hall & Woodhouse, West Sussex tenanted estate. Each year Bridget and Richard (tenants) hold a family fun day in aid of MacMillan. Last year the event raised an impressive £4,000 and this year they almost doubled their total with a final amount of £7098.22. The day had a wide range of entertainment with lots of live music, a bouncy castle, face paints for the little ones, and a choice of cuisines for the guest to enjoy as well as an auction that was not to be missed.
Vicky Cooper, Volunteer and event organising comments “We know a lot of people who have been helped by MacMillan and they do so much that people are unaware of, they do lots of wonderful things and are wonderful people.” Vicky also spread awareness by being sponsored to have her hair cut off in aid of the Little Princess trust, a trust which makes wigs for children suffering with the disease.
Hall & Woodhouse supports the event at the Six Bells every year by donating a Brewery tour and lunch as well as a night’s stays bed and breakfast at the historic Crown Hotel in the picturesque Georgian town Blandford.
