Having opened its doors in October 2014, the Olive Branch in the Bishopric, Horsham was not aware that it was a front runner for the prize due to an abundance of promising competitors within the local area. Antony and Sarah Abel were thrilled with their win and put it down to their investment-in and passion for people and their guest journey.
“We have put a lot of love into the Pub, creating a home away from home for our guests.”
The competition was launched in October when the County Times asked its readers for nominations and then put those shortlisted to a public vote.
The design of the Olive Branch, which mixes the old and the new, is certainly unique. With options ranging from live music evenings to a quiet cosy fire and a lovely conservatory inspired dining area, the Olive Branch has something for everyone.
The pub has undergone many changes over the last decade but it seems to have finally found its niche within the local pub market. On discussing where the pub is headed next, Antony hinted at an outside cocktail and tapas bar in the New Year.
