01 February 2009 - Hopping Hare springs back into action

Hopping Hare, Badger’s light and crisp seasonal ale for spring with a wonderful hoppy aroma, will be launched in its new bottles in February for four months only - so catch it whilst you can!

After the cold of winter when the grass begins to grow and the air starts to feel warmer, it’s the perfect time to put the spring back in your step with Hopping Hare (4.5% ABV). Brewed in Dorset by family brewers Hall & Woodhouse, Hopping Hare is triple-hopped to give it a light refreshing taste.

“This pale gold ale has a fresh, zingy, herbal aroma and a moreish bitter flavour that makes it the perfect accompaniment for fragrant Thai green curry or as a marinade for the rich meat of a lamb shank. Its flavours are complex from the triple hopping but at the same time the ale is light and crisp,” comments Rick Payne from Hall & Woodhouse.

The water used in all Badger beers is Dorset Spring water that has been naturally filtered for up to a century through the Jurassic chalk downs and drawn up 120 feet from the Brewery’s own wells. Hall & Woodhouse also sources its yeast from within Dorset, the current Badger brewery yeast was changed in 1934 and it has been ‘pitched’ from brew to brew for well over 70 years.
“We use only the very best raw, natural ingredients to brew our premium ales, which are created from recipes that have been passed from generation to generation. We are proud of our history and provenance in Dorset and both are fundamental to the fine quality of each one of our premium ales,” concludes Rick.

Hopping Hare will be available in its new bottles from February 2009 in Tesco and Sainsburys and online at www.badgerdirect.com. RRP £1.79 (500ml)
