11 June 2009 - Badger Launch Lemony Cricket - A beautifully composed Ale
A summer beer garden on a warm balmy evening, the aroma of cut grass and the hum of crickets is the perfect backdrop to enjoying a cold crisp pint of Badger’s new summer cask beer, Lemony Cricket, a beautifully composed fresh zingy ale.
Brewed by family brewers Hall & Woodhouse, Lemony Cricket is well hopped with a depth of character complemented by harmonious notes of lemongrass. Lemony Cricket can be enjoyed on its own or as the perfect accompaniment to barbecued tiger prawns or a light Thai curry.
As with all Badger premium ales, Lemony Cricket is created by master brewer Toby Heasman, using the very best raw ingredients and recipes that have been passed from generation to generation. “We are proud of our Dorset links and history and this provenance is fundamental to the fine quality of each one of our premium ales,” said Rick Payne, Brands Marketing Manager at Hall & Woodhouse.
The water used in all Badger beers is Dorset Spring water that has been naturally filtered for up to a century through the Jurassic chalk downs and drawn up 120 feet from the brewery’s own wells. Hall & Woodhouse also sources its yeast from within Dorset and the current Badger brewery yeast was last changed in 1934; it has been ‘pitched’ from brew to brew for well over 70 years.
Lemony Cricket cask ale is available all summer long from June to September at most Hall & Woodhouse tied-pubs throughout England.
