19 January 2010 - PEARWOOD CIDER - IT’S PEARFECTLY DELICIOUS

The new Pearwood Cider, made from English conference pears, grown in the West Country, is produced by Thatchers Cider of Somerset in collaboration with Hall & Woodhouse. The combined expertise of these two award-winning companies has resulted in a deliciously different pear cider that brings together the sweet, complex flavours of fermented pears and a refreshing background bite of cider.

Pearwood is the first pear cider to be bottled by family brewers Hall & Woodhouse and as Rick Payne, Brands Marketing Manager at Hall & Woodhouse explains, “Following the success of Applewood, the cider we created with Thatchers, it seems only natural to extend the range by making a pear cider. There has been a huge growth in the popularity of cider and people are keen to try something a little different. Applewood is aged in oak, and made to recipes which have been handed down through four generations of the Thatchers’ family and we have incorporated this experience, whilst substituting apples with pears, to create our deliciously fruity, floral and grassy Pearwood Cider”.
