09 October 2007 - BREWERY STAFF RAISE £620 FOR MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT
Staff at Blandford-based independent family brewer Hall & Woodhouse raised £620 for Macmillan Cancer Support as part of the World's Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 28 September.
The Hall & Woodhouse accounts team sold a range of home-baked of cakes to staff and members of the public in the Brewery Visitor Centre.
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer – campaigning for better cancer care and providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.
The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is one of the largest fundraising events in the UK, with an estimated 2 million people raising their mugs for Macmillan. This year, over 42,000 people hosted a coffee morning – helping Macmillan to raise over £7 million for people affected by cancer.
Sarah Woodhouse, Chairman of the Blandford Committee for Macmillan Cancer Support, comments: 'We were thrilled to receive the £620 raised by the team at Hall & Woodhouse. It’s through excellent fundraising events such as this that Macmillan Cancer Support is able to carry out the fantastic job it does in Dorset.'
