11 October 2007 - GOLDEN GLORY – OFFICIALLY ONE OF THE WORLD’S 50 BEST BEERS
Hall & Woodhouse’s premium ale Golden Glory has been voted one the World’s 50 Best Beers for 2007 by the International Beer Challenge (IBC).
Every year, the IBC discovers and rewards the finest beers from across the globe. The beers are all rigorously judged and assessed on both taste and packaging by a panel of the industry's leading beer experts, who whittle down hundreds of entries to a list of the World's 50 Best Beers.
Launched in 2001, Golden Glory is a refreshing 4.5% ABV premium ale, subtly flavoured with extract of peach blossom and melon extracts. The judges highlighted the beer’s refreshing, fruity, floral nature, as well as Golden Glory’s attractive and informative packaging.
Jeff Evans, Chairman of the judges, comments: 'Peach blossom is the not-so-secret ingredient of this innovative beer from Dorset. Golden Glory wafts generously through the aroma and remains prominent in the mouth, with crisp, bitter notes helping to balance the floral peach and melon dominance. A former Tesco Beer Challenge winner, this is a beer with which to woo reluctant beer drinkers, or perhaps to enjoy with fruity desserts.'
Accepting the award, Hall & Woodhouse Brands Marketing Manager Rick Payne, commented: “Legend has it that the gift of peach blossom brings good fortune to the recipient. This obviously still holds true today, as the subtle addition of peach blossom to enhance the floral blend of aromatic and bitter hops has helped us create a hugely popular and award-winning ale.”
Golden Glory is available all year round in most supermarkets and a growing number of off-licences and independent retailers.
