31 January 2008 - HOPPY DAYS ARE HARE AGAIN
The rosy glow of Christmas and New Year may be fading into memory, but February sees the return of Hall & Woodhouse's Hopping Hare – beginning another fabulous year of seasonal cask ales with a leaping, bounding start.
Hopping Hare is a light, refreshing golden ale with a distinctive hoppy aroma and slight citrus undertones.
Head Brewer, Dr Tim Morris, comments: 'To achieve Hopping Hare's distinctive hoppy aroma and taste, we add Super Styrian hops to the copper twice during the brewing process, and then add Styrian Goldings hops to cask for that third kick of hops and extra aroma.'
Last year was the first time Hopping Hare appeared in the Hall & Woodhouse seasonal ale programme – after its success at the Great British Beer Festival, where it sold out on every day of the event. As it proved just as popular in the real world, this new spring favourite comes bounding back onto bar tops from the start of February, following on from the success of Pickled Partridge over the winter. Hopping Hare is served in a unique stemmed pint glass to help keep its unique hoppy aroma inside, adding to the heady experience of supping this delicious golden ale. You’d be hopping mad to miss out.
Hopping Hare will be available on draught from the start of February to the end of April, as well as in 500ml bottles in selected branches of Tesco and Sainsbury’s from mid-February 2008.
