04 March 2008 - CROWN HOTEL IN BLANDFORD REOPENS AFTER MAJOR REFURBISHMENT
The historic Crown Hotel in Blandford Forum reopens its doors next week (Tuesday 11 March 2008) after a two-month closure for a major refurbishment.
Owned by independent family brewers Hall & Woodhouse, and now managed by successful hoteliers Peter and Kate Miller, the revamped hotel promises to be an exciting new venue for the North Dorset town.
The £40,000 landscaping to the front gardens – which has not gone unnoticed by Blandford residents in the past fortnight – is only the beginning of the extensive renovations that have taken place since the start of the year.
The old restaurant has been replaced with an impressive new space (complete with glass ceiling) that hosts an exciting Mediterranean menu new to any Hall & Woodhouse restaurant. This menu, which is available to the general public as well as hotel guests, includes a delicious array of fine à la carte food, served to perfection by the Crown’s new team of staff.
Not only has the restaurant been completely redesigned; a more open plan reception and bar area has been built, with patrons able to enjoy an informal drink in comfortable and modern surroundings. The Crown’s existing log fire is still a key feature to the atmosphere of the venue and reflects the fine Georgian splendour of the building.

The adjoining Sealy Suite has also undergone decoration, and will continue to be available for private functions, corporate events and weddings.
