It was not so long ago when Mick and Fiona were discussing the individual requirements for a wedding that the idea of serving delicious homemade pies surfaced. The bride and groom had requested that all their guests were served pie as a main course, but at the time the kitchen team at the Thatched Tavern didn’t have the resources available to accommodate this request. So Mick and Fiona purchased 80 baking tins and the rest is history. To this day, the Thatched Tavern still serve tasty, homemade pies. Infact, in 2012 the team managed to sell in excess of 6500 pies. That is more than 17 pies a day! 2013 Is also looking bright, having sold 675 pies in the two months of trading since their refurb.
The Thatched Tavern serve six homemade pies: steak and ale pie, game pie, chicken, ham and leak pie, fish pie and a goats cheese tart. These are all served alongside fresh chips or new potatoes on a bed of vegetables. The cost for one of these pies is £7.95 Monday to Thursday, with that price going up to £10.95 on the weekends. Furthermore, guests can opt for a two or three course meal from the “Pies Galore” menu; these are priced at an extra £3 per course.
We would like to congratulate Mick, Fiona and the whole team at the Thatched Tavern for their hard work and efforts year after year. It was only a matter of weeks ago that the couple returned from the Business Partners trip to Barcelona and their hard work is always appreciated. We would also like to wish Mick and Fiona the best of luck in their future endeavours.
