Perfect Pub

George Inn

Andover, Hampshire

Perfectly positioned in the centre of the quaint Hampshire village of St Mary Bourne, The George Inn is a favourite amongst locals thanks to its classic British menu. Hall and Woodhouse ales like the Fursty Ferret, Best Bitter and seasonal favourite are all served by traditional hand pumps. The pub is surrounded by beautiful countryside walks and is a popular area for cyclists too.

After spending some time enjoying the local countryside, The George Inn is exactly where you should end up. The expansive menu caters for all. To start, the creamy mushrooms with smoked garlic and bacon on toasted baguette, and the sizzling tiger prawns with garlic and chilli are both firm favourites. The local ale-battered haddock and chips are raved about, and for good reason; the fresh fish cooked in crispy batter can be ordered as a small or large portion. The pork belly with crushed potatoes, red wine jus and caramelised onions is packed full of flavour and beautifully presented. The George Inn offers a special senior’s lunch and dinner menu from Monday to Thursday, with three courses for only £13. The Sunday carvery uses local meat and seasonal veg whenever possible and can be gluten-free. It is advisable to book as the roasts are always popular.

With a wine list that complements the menu perfectly and a lovely courtyard, this pub is a great place to unwind on a warm summer’s day. The George Inn also hosts events and has two TV screens that regularly show sports fixtures plus a pool table and darts board for your own sports fixtures. The rifle room is ideal for training days and can host up to 20 delegates. The B&B includes en-suite rooms with a separate entrance so that guests can come and go as they like.

Amongst the other amenities listed below, we also offer a loyalty card scheme, sky sports, pool, darts and poker as well as host our own cricket and football teams.
