CDP\Section Chef - Live In

Job Type: Pub – Kitchen

Location: Goffs Manor

Great Location - Near Gatwick
Situated less than a mile from busy Crawley town and close to Gatwick airport, the Goffs Manor is the perfect example of a traditional pub at the heart of its local community. A beautiful 15th century Grade II listed house, dating back to c 1450, this ancient building is striking in character and charm and was formerly the home of actor Peter Vaughan, Porridge’s genial Harry Grout. With a large and beautiful garden, incorporating its very own duck pond, as well as roaring log fires and oak beams inside for those darker and colder winter nights, the Goffs Manor has plenty of character and charm all year round. We are looking for a chef to complete our super team in this high energy and rewarding business.
Job Specification - apply if you are:
  • A highly organised CDP \ Section Chef
  • Experienced with a good food knowledge
  • Able to work to precise specifications for cooking and presentation

As a Team Chef at the Goffs Manor you can expect:

  • Pay of £9.10 per hour for every hour on shift,

Previous experience as a chef in a similar role and the ability to thrive in a high paced and exciting kitchen is required.  
Knowledge, skills and attributes required:
  • Previous experience in a high end branded food operation
  • Able to work to precise specifications for cooking and presentation
  • Able to cope under time and volume pressure

15th century Sussex country pub on the outskirts of Crawley

Goffs Manor is a beautiful 15th century Grade II listed house on the outskirts of Crawley. Previously owned by legendary actor Peter Vaughan of Porridge fame and incorporating a green plaque to commemorate his contribution to theatre, TV and film, this charming pub is known for its character and wonderful gardens, incorporating its very own duck pond. Carefully preserved - with oak beams, open fires and many unique rooms along with its beautiful alfresco spaces - you can pull up a chair and make it your home away from home for the day. Serving an extensive menu with traditional pub favourites and regularly changing specials, as well as award-winning Badger Beers from Dorset, this pub really does cater for all seasons and occasions.
