About the ale

A Premium traditional ale of legendary character

Traditional premium ale, light golden in colour. Noticeable floral dry hop aroma balanced with biscuity and fruity notes. Full bodied with a medium bitterness and a rounded, smooth, hoppy flavour. Hints of melon and pear. A clean finish with some hoppy linger.

The Story...

Many years ago, the Head Brewer invited his staff to sample his latest creation and coin a name for it. So successful was the sampling that several tankards of the ale were consumed. On rising to go, the Head Brewer experienced a sudden loss of steering, and so unwittingly fell on a name for this legendary ale. Now, as then, Tanglefoot remains "deceptively drinkable".

Tanglefoot wins Bronze

Taste buds were tickled and tested over the two days of judging for OLN's International Beer and Cider Competition. More than 230 beers from around the world were judged on taste, design and image by the panel of 40 experts. Each of the 17 categories was awarded a gold, silver and bronze winner.

Bronze Award

"This competition is unique in the beer and cider sector as it judges products from a consumer perspective. Judging is based on a combination of packaging design, taste and drinkability. After all, a wonderfully tasting product is not going to sell in an off-licence if its packaging is badly designed."

Kate Oppenheim, editor, OLN

Tanglefoot Strong Ale won the Bronze award in the highly competitive category for Premium Ales (4.3% to 7.5% ABV). Click here to buy this beer...
