Hall & Woodhouse (H&W), the leading independent family-owned Dorset brewer, has announced that a further extension will be made to the cancellation period of all rent and service charges for its Business Partner estate.
Publicans will be exempt from paying rent and service charges until Saturday June 27 2020. H&W is also suspending loan repayments for the same period.
Chris Chapman, Head of Business Partnerships at H&W, explained: “We are committed to providing our Business Partners with the financial support required to help them see through these unprecedented times.
“This rent-free extension will bring the total rent we have cancelled for our Business Partners to over £1.6million. We hope that together with the support provided by the Government, we can continue to help our partners to immediately fund their businesses.
The decision was originally made to suspend these payments for eight weeks, in response to the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday March 16, where he provided guidance to avoid pubs, restaurants, theatres, office environments and non-essential travel in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Chris Chapman added: “The situation remains under constant review and we have reassured our Business Partners that our support will continue beyond the re-opening phase. Over our 243 years we have faced up to many challenges, big and small, and we have come through them by living our values, supporting each other and working as a team across our estate.”
