Hall & Woodhouse opens brand-new multi-million restaurant and bar in heart of Taplow community

May 2023

Hall & Woodhouse (H&W) has opened the doors of its brand-new restaurant and bar in Taplow, Buckinghamshire, following a £6million investment from the brewer and pub company.

Hall & Woodhouse Taplow is located directly on the banks of the River Thames, with an expansive outdoor terrace that has wonderful south and west-facing views over the river, and benefits from sunshine throughout the day. The two-storey state-of-the-art building features striking architecture that complements the surrounding environment and an interior design that is warm and enticing.

Mark James, Business Partnerships & Property Director at Hall & Woodhouse, said: “Taplow is a unique area with a rich culture and sense of community. We are excited to welcome locals to their new restaurant and bar in time for the warm summer ahead. In classic Hall & Woodhouse style, we have made sure to celebrate the fabulous riverside location as well as Taplow’s rich local history, and we couldn’t resist including a few nods to our own company’s heritage.”

A large lighting fixture crafted from an original copper brewing vessel from H&W’s brewery in Dorset, has been installed at Taplow’s entrance. There is soft seating, colourful artwork, a variety of plants and wide bi-folding doors that open onto the terrace and give the building a fresh, inside-out feel.

Mark added: We have designed Taplow to welcome guests at any time of day, from informal catch-ups over brunch, to intimate dining experiences. We are especially looking forward to guests enjoying a drink – whether that’s a coffee, cocktail or a pint of our delicious Badger beer – and a bite to eat as they relax and take in the beautiful local scenery.”

The new restaurant and bar has a range of welcoming and versatile areas for guests to enjoy whatever the occasion, throughout the day. Alongside dining areas with riverside views, there is an informal pantry for coffee and cakes, and cosy area next to the bar complete with soft armchairs for guests to meet over a drink, relax by the open fire, or settle into a comfortable spot to work.

H&W Taplow also includes a number of sustainable features such as underfloor heating powered by air source heat pumps, LED lighting, light sensors in the outdoor dining areas, sustainable waste disposal, upcycled materials and furniture, and plenty of outdoor bike parking.

Hall & Woodhouse Taplow is located on Mill Lane in Taplow and is open daily for all-day dining.
