A historic pub at the foot of the South Wiltshire Downs
The George Inn is a traditional country pub situated in the historic town of Mere, nestled below the South Wiltshire Downs. With a half-timbered-appearance, this 15th century pub has been modified throughout the centuries but much of its history and character remains today.
The pub boasts eight comfortable en-suite bedrooms, a delicious food offering and a range of award-winning Badger Beers from Dorset, which together provide its guests with a comfortable, welcoming environment and a beautiful setting in which to relax and recuperate.
Please note this pub is temporarily closed. A huge thank you to all our guests for your continued support and we look forward to welcoming you back soon! Want to run this pub? The George Inn is currently available to lease. Find out more here.
