Ness Drive, Shaldon, Nr Teignmouth, Devon, TQ14 0HP
Named after the ‘Ness’ (the rocky outcrop that towers over it) this beautiful Devon inn is a Grade II listed haunt with nine stunning bedrooms. And it’s location, on the South West Coast Path, provides stunning views over the Teign Estuary.
The perfect place to rest and relax, whether basking in the sun on their beautiful terrace, popping in for some refreshments after a day at the beach (a few minutes walk away), or watching the winter storms roll in beside a roaring fire.
Fun fact: originally built in 1810 as the summer home of the infamous Clifford family, who, as rumour has it, enlarged their fortune through smuggling (via the secret tunnel just behind the pub).
